On A Frozen Lake

coat: forever 21 (recent & under $40!) // sweater: topshop // jeans: c/o: j.crew // boots: frye // sunglasses: karen walker // pom pom: c/o joe fresh

This past weekend, David and I headed on a last minute trip to Canmore for a little staycation of sorts. We booked a last minute stay at the cutest inn too (Check out my Instagram to see!)
Luckily for us, the beautiful Rocky Mountains are just a short drive away. I often get asked if I go to the mountains all the time and the answer is YES! Growing up out east, I never saw mountains like this and as long as I'm living here in Alberta I want to take advantage of it as much as I can. Can you blame me though? It's seriously so gorgeous!

Anyways, we took these photos on a frozen lake! They were taken at Lake Minnewanka, a lake I've always wanted to take pictures at. On this particular day however it was about -20 so it was COLD. I was also crippled with fear that the ice would crack and we would fall through. Seriously, the ice was making sounds and we booked it out of there!

  1. Wonderful look! Your coat is so pretty :) I adore the mountains as well. I'm lucky enough to live within eyesight of a gorgeous range, but I haven't had the chance to hike it yet!

  2. I've never seen mountains like those before either, but I've never been anywhere west of Ontario (in Canada, anyway). I would take advantage of the view AND would probably suffer through the cold for the sake of blog photos too.
