I grew up absolutely loving Mexican artist Frida Kahlo through my mother (my lovely mama is from Mexico) and naturally I nearly gasped when I saw this tee not too long ago. Frida was such a strong and independent female especially for her time and her art was truly amazing. I recently got to see an exhibit of hers at the Ontario Royal Museum and it was a dream come true. If you don't know her background I highly recommend the movie "Frida" staring Salma Hayek!
Anyways on to the rest of the outfit, I thought it would be fun to pair this tee with something a little more feminine. I got a super great deal on this skirt in Seattle and although it is a little out of my comfort zone in terms of tightness, I thought the colour was a great alternative to the typical black pencil skirt. It has a fun edgy feel to it which would be great for a casual workplace or drinks with friends!
Hope all of you had a wonderful holiday weekend & thanks for reading! x
" I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me, too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you'" -Frida Kahlo
