It's been bitterly cold this week in the wild west and by cold I mean the warmest it's been is -15. Tomorrow it will be a lovely -32.. prayers are welcomed for my survival in this weather. I know I'm Canadian and all but I just can't handle cold weather. I've never been a "winter" person at all. I didn't grow up skiing, snowboarding or anything but that's probably because I had foreign parents. I will say though, that since moving to the west my perception of cold has changed. I used to think anything between 0 and -10 was FREEZING and now I've considered that to be pretty warm! That's progress right? At least the snow looks pretty! The thing that get's me through is to think of the blessings in my life. A warm house to come home to, food in the fridge and a great boyfriend and puppy!
What also gets me through the winter is warm flannels, especially this one from J.Crew that I picked up on the weekend. I immediately fell in love with the colour and how it has a different pattern on the pocket and collar. I also justify getting them because they will always be in style.. so why not?
Have a great Wednesday everyone & keep warm! (especially my fellow Albertans!)

I grew up here doing all those things and still absolutely HATE it. There's no winning I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteLove this plaid button up, I definitely need to find mine now. The colours in this look are perfect all together :)

We've been pretty lucky on PEI as far as weather goes, it was plus 6 yesterday! Although we have lots of snow today. I am all about being warm though, so Sorels and cozy coats are my best friends in winter.
ReplyDeleteYou always want what you can't have don't you! We get 70-75 degree weather all year round and we still find ways to complain! At least the snow makes for gorgeous pictures! I'm loving the flannel top - just got some flannel PJ bottoms and they couldn't be cozier!

Finally grabbed that same Old Navy coat (but in grey) and am so glad I did! Although I hate to share that here in LA it's barely cold enough to need it. Yours looks great with the plaid though! And am loving seeing you in glasses :)

I live in Honduras (tropical climate year round) and will soon be moving to Brandon,MB Canada; I am praying I get use to the cold, wearing cute coats and flannels sure makes it sound lovely.
ReplyDeleteAs someone born and raised in Toronto, I am one of "those" people who feel like anything below freezing is just TOO cold. I'm already hating the winter and find that instead of getting used to the cold, I hate it more and more every year.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I love warm weather clothes (except for ugly down jackets). Nothing beats a good flannel, which is surprisingly hard to find when you're looking. Oddly enough though, I haven't looked at J Crew yet!
