Last week I had the pleasure of attending an exclusive dining experience at Pigeonhole here in the heart of Calgary, courtesy of American Express Canada.
Pigeonhole has been getting a lot of buzz lately not only in Calgary but the rest of country as they were just honoured for being Canada’s Best New Restaurant for 2015 as determined by Air Canada enRoute Magazine. The restaurant hasn't been open for long and it's already the IT spot here in Calgary. It's also one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to and I love that it has a vintage, mid-century modern "Mad Men" vibe that’s just my style!
I along with some other influencers in Calgary were treated like VIP's by having the privilege to sit at the chef's table and observe all the gourmet food being perfectly prepared. This wonderful night would not have been possible had it not been for Amex Canada! For the first time ever, Amex opened its doors to all Canadians, even those who don’t currently have an Amex Card. By visiting www.amexinvites.ca, Canadians have the chance to attend special dining and film events and can also get a one-time use promo code to access pre-sale tickets to some of the hottest concerts.
The Calgary dining event was the first of three taking place around the country including AnnaLena in Vancouver and Bar Raval in Toronto. American Express is known for providing its Cardmembers with early access to the best entertainment experiences and this offering gives all Canadians the chance to experience these perks.
It was a great night filled with wonderful conversations and not to mention some of the best food I've ever eaten. Seriously, if you get the chance to go don't miss out on the ricotta dumplings, the cod pierogis and the charred cabbage with jalapeño cream. Pigeonhole has one of the most innovative, unique menus I've ever seen and there's no doubting why they received such a prestigious award. I never thought I would like cod pierogis or charred cabbage but they are both impeccably made and send your taste buds on a roller coaster ride! Oh and the desserts, don't even get me started on those. I had the most delicious espresso pot de creme.. need I say more?
