Grey is one of those those shades that can sometimes get forgotten within our brighter, more patterned closets. I've definitely been guilty of this fact, but lately I've wanted to experiment with the shade more since seeing it pretty much all over the place, especially with outerwear.
Since I don't have a grey coat (weird, I know) I decided to go with some grey in other places and played with different shades and textures. I love the monochromatic look and I think grey is the perfect shade to experiment with it. I paired it with my favourite cranberry coloured blanket coat from Old Navy that I can't seem to take off and voila... a casual winter outfit!
What do you think about the reemergence of grey? I'd love to know!

Grey is always such a wonderful shade! I absolutely love the all grey with the pop of red.

I LOVE that blanket coat. I've been eyeing it for awhile waiting for a crazy sale. Alas, your post reminded me to check and there it was for only $35 online (in Canada)! Sadly the cranberry was sold out and I called the local store and it's available but it's retail price in store is even more than it's listed regular price online... So I opted for the black version since I (surprisingly!) don't already own a black coat! Crazy, huh? Can't wait for it to arrive!
ReplyDeleteI love how comfortable and cosy this whole outfit looks, yet still stylish enough that you can venture out in the cold wearing it. Great idea of breaking up the greys with this gorgeous coat!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit looks SO comfortable Melanie! I am all about comfortable fashion ; ) Great coat, too, looks warm!

I used to wear grey all.the.time. because I was a bit scared of wearing colors. But in the present day, you'll hardly see me wearing it. I love that it's back now, and that I can wear my old pieces again and be on-trend, yet I think I prefer my brightly colored clothes over my grey ones any day now :) I love this outfit. The coat looks SO incredibly cozy and warm. xo
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about getting similar pants! You did a great job styling them!

I love the hat! I can't pull off hats; they just don't work well with the shape of my face.
